NOZ/mh:n Names Dual Leadership for Lower Saxony Publishers

Osnabrück – October 30, 2026 -- Thorsten Schulze and Falk Lindemann will jointly run publisher BruneMettcker from Nov. 1, 2026, consolidating management of regional newspaper houses in Norden, Weener and Wilhelmshaven under one leadership pair, the NOZ/mh:n Group said.

Loerts-Sabin retires from operations at age 70

Helmut Loerts-Sabin, managing director of BruneMettcker in Wilhelmshaven, is stepping back from day-to-day business. The group describes the handover as a planned succession.

Schulze and Lindemann swap and extend their mandates

Schulze has been managing director of DK Medien, publisher of the Delmenhorster Kreisblatt, and of Ostfriesischer Kurier GmbH since 2021. He now also joins Lindemann as managing director of H. Risius Verlag GmbH & Co. KG in Weener, which publishes the Rheiderland-Zeitung.

Lindemann has led Risius Verlag since January 2026. He now also joins the management of Ostfriesischer Kurier GmbH.

Both will join the management of Medienhaus Brune Mettcker GmbH, publisher of the Wilhelmshavener Zeitung and the Jeversches Wochenblatt.

Group management targets synergies while keeping local brands

Jens Wegmann, who runs the NOZ/mh:n Group together with Paul Wehberg, said the task is to preserve local identities while setting a unified strategic direction. He expects closer integration of teams and a stronger market presence as a result.

Wehberg credited Schulze and Lindemann with strong results in their respective fields and with finding answers to media-sector change. He thanked Loerts-Sabin for his groundwork.

The group says the new structure should make the regional publishers future-proof through group-wide synergies and targeted use of modern technology. Schulze and Lindemann said group backing allows investment in new technologies and platforms.
