Oishii Doubles Retail Reach to 500+ Stores With Walmart Entry

Jersey City – October 29, 2026 -- Oishii, operator of what it calls the world's largest indoor vertical Smart Farm, will reach more than 500 U.S. retail locations across 25 states by the end of 2026, more than doubling its points of distribution, after adding Walmart, The Fresh Market and Giant Food as first-time retail partners.

Four chains add more than 220 stores in the Q4 rollout

Walmart will carry Oishii strawberries in 78 stores across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. The Fresh Market adds 84 stores across the Southeast, including first-time entry into North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Giant Food brings 30 stores in Maryland and Virginia.

Existing partner Sprouts Farmers Market adds 34 stores in Florida and Georgia. Oishii has grown its Sprouts presence from 20 to 65 locations, a 225% increase, since its initial Northeast launch.

Premium Grade Nikko Berry at $7.99 anchors grocery distribution

The Premium Grade Nikko Berry drives most of the new availability. Earlier this year Oishii reorganized its Omakase, Koyo and Nikko Berries into Premium, Reserve and Connoisseur Grade tiers with new formats, price points and packaging.

The Premium Grade Nikko Berry ships in a 7.5-ounce pack with an MSRP of $7.99; shelf prices vary by retailer and location. Its Stay-Fresh top-seal packaging uses 80% less plastic than a traditional clamshell and extends shelf life by 33%. Oishii says the longer shelf life lets it ship farther and serve more retail markets.

Nikko Berry output rises 282% since January

Supply is scaling alongside distribution. Since the start of 2026, Oishii has increased Nikko Berry production by 282% and improved sellable yield per plant by 100%. Total robotic-harvested berries are up 50%.

The company credits Smart Farm technology advances and upgrades to farm conveyance systems for the gains. Expanded R&D in the U.S. and Japan continues to push them further.

Commercial chief cites demand for consistency

Chief Commercial Officer Rita Hudetz said consumers increasingly seek consistent flavor, ripeness and freshness, and that Nikko Berry lets Oishii meet that demand while becoming part of more shoppers' routine purchases.

With the larger network in place, Oishii plans to support its growing store base and grocery partners while looking for ways to deepen its presence in existing markets.
