ONERugged Launches Six-Model VPC Tablet Line for Bus Fleets

Shenzhen – November 05, 2026 -- ONERugged has launched six rugged vehicle tablets, the V80J, V80T, V10J, V10T, V12R and V82T, to replace consumer-grade hardware in bus transit and fleet management. The VPC Series combines cashless ticketing, real-time dispatch and driver-monitoring functions on one Android or Windows device.

VPC Series consolidates ticketing, dispatch and safety functions in one cabin terminal

ONERugged says consumer tablets fail in buses because of constant vibration, temperature swings and cluttered cabling. Interface shortages force operators to stack multiple devices, which the company links to higher downtime and maintenance costs.

The VPC Series connects through aviation-grade or Deutsch connectors. It supports RJ45, RS232, RS485, USB, CAN bus, AHD and GPIO, so one terminal can serve peripherals that previously needed separate systems.

Built-in 4G module feeds ridership and revenue data to operations centers

For ticketing, the tablet links to NFC readers, barcode scanners and ticket printers. Passengers pick a destination on the display and pay by contactless card or mobile wallet. Receipts print automatically, and sales data goes to the operations center over 4G for ridership analytics and revenue reporting.

For dispatch, 4G and multi-satellite GNSS positioning upload vehicle location and status continuously. Dispatchers issue instructions and schedule changes from a central dashboard. Drivers see on-time or delayed status, distance traveled, upcoming streets and estimated arrival times, replacing radio calls and printed manifests.

ADAS and driver-monitoring cameras connect directly to the VPC Series

The tablet reads engine status and tire pressure via the vehicle's CAN bus or OBD-II port. It interfaces with outward-facing ADAS cameras and inward-facing driver status monitoring cameras to detect fatigue, distraction and unsafe actions. It also delivers lane departure and forward-collision warnings and relays safety data to the operations center.

All models carry IP65 protection and MIL-STD-810H certification

Every model meets IP65, MIL-STD-810H and ISO16750 standards for shock, vibration and wide-temperature operation. Other specifications include:

  • A sunlight-readable high-brightness display and a high-power speaker
  • VESA and RAM mounting holes
  • Wide-voltage input with ACC ignition startup
  • Optional centimeter-level GNSS positioning on select models
  • Mobile Device Management compatibility for remote upgrades, configuration and policy enforcement

ONERugged says remote management cuts field service visits and total cost of ownership across large fleets.

South American coach operator deploys V12R across its fleet

A major passenger coach operator in South America deployed the V12R from depot departure through monitoring, dispatch and remote maintenance. The operator reported better coordination efficiency and fewer hardware failures than with consumer-grade tablets. Its fleet operations manager cited a "significantly lower failure rate" on rough roads. The company did not disclose fleet size or quantitative results.

ONERugged is a brand of Emdoor Information (SZ:001314). It is targeting system integrators, distributors and fleet managers for evaluation and deployment.
