Norwich – October 12, 2026 -- Pikl, the insurance-backed revenue growth partner for the travel market, grew 7x between 2024 and 2025 and now covers about 20% of the UK short-term rental market, as its founder and CEO Louise Birritteri was named One to Watch in The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders for 2026.
Pikl reports 2,024% premium growth from property managers in two years
Pikl reports gross written premium growth from property management companies (PMCs) of 2,024% from 2023 to 2025. The company says it has partnered with some of the largest enterprise PMCs globally. It also says partners have achieved revenue growth of up to 2.1x.
Flexible cancellation cover lets PMCs offer refunds without absorbing the risk
Birritteri founded Pikl after identifying a structural problem in short-term rentals: PMCs could not offer guests flexible cancellation without taking on significant financial risk. Pikl built what it describes as a new category of insurance-enabled business models. Under it, PMCs can offer flexible cancellation and convert lost revenue potential into growth. The company says this moved it from a niche insurer to a global growth enabler for the short-term rental marketplace.
Birritteri targets new markets as the next growth stage
Birritteri said Pikl's team now helps property managers across around 20% of the UK short-term rental market offer guests flexibility. She said the next stage is taking the model into new markets. The source does not name target markets or give a timeline.
LDC and The Times back the 2026 leadership programme
The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders programme was created by private equity investor LDC, part of Lloyds Banking Group, in partnership with The Times. The Ones to Watch category recognises leaders who have made significant progress and shown potential to take their businesses further.
