Berlin/Florence – October 27, 2026 -- PLAN-B NET ZERO AG, a German energy provider with about 115,000 customers and users and more than EUR 60 million in annual recurring revenue (ARR), has won "World's Best Challenger Brand" at the CHARGE Awards Europe 2026.
CHARGE presented the award on October 19, 2026, at its Energy Brand Conference in Florence. The jury recognized PLAN-B's Neo Energy concept, which turns electricity from an interchangeable commodity into a digital energy system.
PLAN-B reports 115,000 users and EUR 60 million ARR since its 2023 founding
Bradley Mundt founded the company in April 2023. As of June 30, 2026, it had around 115,000 customers and users. By its own assessment, this makes PLAN-B one of the fastest-growing energy platforms in the DACH region.
Neo Energy replaces annual billing with app-based control and a wallet
Modeled on neo banking, the offer pairs electricity from 100% renewable sources with digital services. Customers receive ok-power-plus-certified power at fixed prices and manage it in the PLAN-B Neo App.
The Neo Wallet accepts prepaid funds, credit cards, Apple Pay and Klarna, so customers receive no traditional annual bill. Meter readings, installments and invoices run through self-service. An AI assistant named Neo answers questions around the clock, and a human team member can call customers back. Community members earn kWh bonuses and Power Units. PLAN-B says further features are planned.
CEO Mundt casts renewable power as the baseline, not the sales pitch
Mundt said the company aims to make electricity an experience that works as smoothly as the best everyday apps. In his view, renewable power is the foundation rather than the selling point.
