PROTEOR Launches 'Unleashed' Book Ahead of 2027 Community Impact Push

Las Vegas – September 11, 2026 -- PROTEOR USA is publishing "Unleashed: Real Stories of Strength, Independence, and Community," a 20-story collection centered on individuals with limb loss and limb difference, marking an early step in a broader Community Impact strategy the prosthetics and orthotics maker plans to formalize by 2027.

PROTEOR debuts the book at AOPA's 2026 National Assembly

The title will be introduced at PROTEOR's booth 313 during the 2026 AOPA National Assembly in Las Vegas, with distribution also set through Amazon and BookBaby.

Company shifts from device-centric messaging to first-person narratives

Rather than framing individuals by diagnosis or device, the book lets 20 contributors describe their own experiences with mobility, challenge, and community. Sharon Gwynn, PROTEOR USA's Manager of Community Impact & Strategic Communications, said the project began as an effort to give people a platform to speak and be heard, but evolved into a mandate for the company to be present within the O&P community rather than operating at a distance from it.

PROTEOR is surveying the O&P ecosystem to shape 2027 programming

The company is currently gathering input from individuals with limb loss and limb difference, caregivers, clinicians, rehabilitation professionals, and community organizations to identify gaps it can responsibly address. Gwynn said the 2027 roadmap is being built directly from what the company is hearing now, with the aim of letting patients and professionals help determine where PROTEOR can have the greatest impact, rather than designing programs in isolation.

Strategy targets connection over standalone programming

PROTEOR states its goal is not to build isolated community programs but to link people, resources, education, and experiences across the O&P ecosystem in ways intended to produce durable value. The company frames this approach as part of its "Human First" philosophy, extending its focus beyond prosthetic and orthotic products to the families, clinicians, and communities involved in each patient's mobility journey.
