Boston – October 06, 2026 -- RaySecur has partnered with DTS Industries, a Jackson County, Kentucky manufacturer, to produce critical mechanical components and calibration standards for its MailSecur concealed-threat detection systems on U.S. soil.
RaySecur shifts supply chain to domestic manufacturer in Appalachian Kentucky
The deal brings precision metal fabrication and system calibration work for MailSecur, a desktop T-ray screening system, into DTS Industries' Jackson County facility. DTS specializes in precision forming, custom machining, laser cutting, assembly and finishing, and holds ISO 9001 certification.
MailSecur holds DHS SAFETY Act designation as anti-terrorism technology
MailSecur is the first desktop T-ray screening system to receive Designated Status as a Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology under the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's SAFETY Act. The system is deployed across Fortune 500 companies, government agencies, and law enforcement and correctional facilities worldwide, where it screens mail for concealed weapons, explosives, chemical and biological agents, and narcotics including fentanyl and opioids embedded in powders, pills, liquids or laced paper.
Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation brokered the manufacturing match
The Southeast Kentucky Economic Development Corporation (SKED) identified and vetted DTS Industries as a manufacturing partner for RaySecur. Congressman Hal Rogers, SKED's founder, said the partnership demonstrates the capacity of Kentucky's Appalachian workforce to support federally designated security technology production. Brett Traver, SKED's Executive Director, said the organization connected RaySecur's stated manufacturing needs directly to regional business capabilities.
RaySecur CEO Alex Sappok said strengthening the company's U.S. supply chain is a strategic priority for a developer of national security and public safety technologies, noting that DTS stood out among candidates identified through SKED for its technical capabilities.
Partnership targets fentanyl interdiction in correctional mail screening
In correctional facilities, RaySecur's technology serves as a first-line defense against synthetic drugs smuggled through mail, protecting both incarcerated populations and correctional staff from exposure to concealed narcotics. The expanded manufacturing capacity in Kentucky is intended to support growing production demand for MailSecur units supplying this threat-detection use case alongside broader corporate and government deployments.
