Chicago – October 06, 2026 -- S&C Electric Company will build a 295,000-square-foot central warehouse facility in Glenview, Illinois, as part of a broader push to expand U.S. manufacturing capacity for grid-resilience technologies.
Glenview facility consolidates materials to free up production space elsewhere
The new site will serve as S&C's central warehouse, consolidating materials and inventory that currently support production across the company's manufacturing network. Relocating these operations to Glenview will free up space for production at existing facilities, improve material movement, and create flexibility for future assembly expansion.
Project adds to a string of Illinois manufacturing investments
The Glenview facility follows recent capacity additions in Palatine, Illinois, which created room for product-line growth, and the launch of the TripSaver FXR, the newest addition to S&C's TripSaver Recloser portfolio. Additional expansion is also underway at S&C's Chicago headquarters to boost manufacturing capacity and support workforce growth.
CEO ties investment to rising grid resilience demand
Anders Sjoelin, President and CEO of S&C Electric Company, said the company continues building on more than a century of supplying solutions that help utilities keep power flowing, and is investing in U.S. manufacturing and jobs as demand for electricity and grid resilience grows.
Severe weather and data-center load growth drive distribution-grid spending
S&C cited severe weather, electrification, and the expansion of large loads such as data centers and advanced manufacturing facilities as factors increasing utility demand for technologies that strengthen distribution-grid resilience and reliability.
Construction timeline targets early 2027 warehouse operations
Work on the Glenview facility is expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with central warehouse operations targeted to start in early 2027. The investment is expected to create new jobs in the Chicago area.
