Serviceware CEO: Agentic AI Must Pay Off in Service Management

Idstein – October 27, 2026 -- Serviceware SE has built its new service management platform AI-native with TU Darmstadt, and CEO and founder Dirk Martin argues that agentic AI only justifies itself where it delivers measurable business value.

Agentic AI adds usage-based costs alongside efficiency gains

Martin says the goal is not maximum AI deployment. Agentic AI raises service efficiency, but it also raises usage-based costs. Companies therefore need to weigh the benefit and total cost of each use case and keep reviewing both, which turns AI into a management task.

Agents move from assistant to acting digital colleague

Agentic systems act independently within set limits, Martin says. They can interpret requests, combine information from different systems, decide within defined rules and complete tasks on their own. Workflows can be modeled from natural language, which speeds up processes and relieves staff of routine work.

Serviceware targets bolted-on AI at established platforms

Many established platforms predate the current AI era and added AI functions later, Martin says. In service management, such add-ons hit limits quickly if they are not deeply tied to existing processes. In his view, the depth of AI in the architecture matters more than the number of AI features.

Serviceware's native approach lets AI steer entire service processes and develop them continuously, according to Martin. The AI accesses knowledge that is often scattered across a company, and defined guardrails set which steps it may and may not execute. The platform can also quantify the cost of service processes, which Martin says no competitor can do in this form.

Serviceware runs its platform in European data centers

Serviceware is a German company. Development, operations and support take place in Europe, and the platform runs in German or European data centers. Martin presents this as a way to combine AI-native service management with European data residency and digital sovereignty as data protection and regulatory security gain weight.
