Sidel Expands Global Training Network with New Aseptic Center in Atlanta

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – September 1, 2025 – Sidel has launched a new aseptic training center in Atlanta, marking a strategic investment in workforce development for beverage manufacturers across the Americas. The facility, which opened on August 28, is designed to build specialized expertise in aseptic PET operations, equipping plant teams with the skills needed to boost productivity, minimize downtime, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Immersive training for aseptic line operations

The Atlanta site replicates real production conditions through technical benches and simulation-based training. Instead of relying solely on live equipment, participants gain hands-on experience in a controlled environment, reducing risk and costs for manufacturers. Courses span core aseptic processing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and operational excellence, with modules tailored to operators and technicians alike.

  • Practical, real-world simulations
  • Modules aligned with FDA and OSHA requirements
  • Programs ranging from two to fifteen days
  • 30:70 theory-to-practice ratio with blended learning

A response to industry workforce challenges

As aseptic PET bottling gains traction across North and South America, companies face a shortage of skilled technicians able to manage complex systems. The Atlanta center directly addresses this challenge by offering localized, risk-free training that prepares teams to handle breakdowns, optimize workflows, and safeguard food safety. It also serves as a demonstration hub for Sidel’s aseptic Combi system and a technical support base for customers in the region.

Direct industry perspective

“This method enhances aseptic maintenance and operations skills while reducing reliance on on-the-job training. Trainees can safely copy issues and repeat tasks as needed, boosting confidence and productivity on the shop floor,” comments Olivier Cocheril, VP Asset Performance & Digital Services, Sidel.

Strategic implications for beverage producers

For beverage manufacturers, aseptic packaging is a growth driver in categories such as dairy alternatives, functional drinks, and nutraceuticals, where shelf stability and safety are critical. With production sites increasingly under pressure to balance efficiency with compliance, the ability to train staff in realistic but non-disruptive conditions offers clear ROI. By lowering operational risk and aligning training with U.S. regulatory frameworks, the Atlanta facility positions Sidel as a long-term partner for sustainable growth in sensitive beverage segments.

Part of a global training network

The Atlanta site joins Sidel’s aseptic training network in China, France, and Italy, extending the company’s international capability to deliver standardized yet customizable training. This expansion underlines the growing demand for highly skilled teams in aseptic filling and reinforces Sidel’s role in shaping best practices worldwide.
