United States – November 02, 2026 -- Marketplace insurers are proposing a median 15% premium increase for 2027, and Softheon is offering health plans a free 20-minute consultation to find operational bottlenecks before open enrollment (OE) volume peaks.
Carrier exits could send hundreds of thousands of members shopping for coverage
Carrier exits and footprint changes mean hundreds of thousands of Marketplace members could be shopping for new coverage in 2027. Changes across Marketplace and public coverage programs could also bring consumers into OE with more questions about eligibility, subsidies, affordability and where to find coverage.
Off-Exchange growth gives plans a second enrollment channel to watch
On-Exchange enrollment is projected to decline, while Off-Exchange enrollment is expected to grow. Individual coverage health reimbursement arrangements (ICHRA) have already surpassed 500,000 covered lives, creating another source of Individual market membership for plans.
Softheon consultation targets enrollment, billing and reconciliation friction
Softheon says its team has supported health plans through OE for more than a decade. The session covers operational sticking points across enrollment, billing, payments, reconciliation and member support.
It also covers manual processes and integration gaps that could create friction as volume increases, and identifies changes plans can prioritize before or during OE.
Softheon is also distributing a downloadable resource on the market shifts shaping OE27.
