SprintRay Unveils European Expansion with Midas Digital Press and Material Innovations at IDS 2025

SHERIDAN, WYOMING – March 27, 2025 - SprintRay introduces transformative 3D printing technology and materials to the European dental market

SprintRay, a global leader in digital dentistry, is setting a bold new course in European dental innovation with the unveiling of several new technologies and strategic partnerships at IDS 2025 in Cologne, Germany. Headlining this launch is the European debut of the Midas Digital Press 3D printer, alongside advanced resin materials and new dual-resin capabilities—all aimed at accelerating practice efficiency and elevating patient care.

Midas Digital Press Makes Its European Debut

Redefining restorative dentistry through ultra-efficient, high-strength printing

At the forefront of SprintRay’s showcase is the Midas Digital Press, a breakthrough 3D printer powered by Digital Press Stereolithography (DPS). This revolutionary technology processes ultra-viscous, ceramic-filled materials to deliver restorations with unmatched strength, esthetics, and precision.

“With SprintRay Ceramic Crown and OnX Tough 2 resin capsules, Midas can print up to three crowns, six inlays/onlays, or nine veneers in a single 10-minute cycle,” the company stated. The integration with SprintRay AI Studio design software further streamlines and enhances the quality of restorative workflows.

“We are excited to introduce the Midas Digital Press restorative workflow with SprintRay ceramic-filled resins to the European market, transforming the way dental professionals deliver single-unit definitive restorations,” said Amir Mansouri, Ph.D., CEO and co-founder of SprintRay. “In the United States alone, more than 70,000 restorations have been successfully 3D printed with Ceramic Crown resin in the past 24 months, with clinicians reporting superior fit and restoration quality compared to traditional milling. We look forward to extending these benefits to more dentists and patients worldwide.”

Next-Generation Materials and Expanded Product Line

SprintRay brings performance-driven innovations to sports dentistry and orthodontics

Building on the momentum of its hardware, SprintRay is also expanding its Digital Print product line with several new material launches designed to meet a broader range of clinical needs.

Among these are:

  • SportsGuard Resin in Crimson Red and Cobalt Blue, engineered for high-performance, custom athletic mouthguards.
  • Direct Print Retainer Resin, launching in Q3 2025, which enables the direct 3D printing of clear retainers with micron-level accuracy—eliminating the need for thermoforming.

SprintRay will also debut the Pro 2 Duo Kit, a patent-pending, dual-resin printing system that allows simultaneous printing with two different resins. This innovation significantly boosts throughput for full dentures, splints, and other high-demand applications.

Ceramic Crown and OnX Tough 2: Coming Soon to Europe

Advanced hybrid ceramic materials pending EU MDR approval

As SprintRay continues to push digital dentistry forward, it plans to launch its top-performing Ceramic Crown and OnX Tough 2 resins in the European market, pending Class IIa EU MDR certification. These hybrid ceramic materials—developed at the company’s BioMaterial Innovation Lab—offer dentists exceptional strength, esthetics, and durability, supporting same-day restorations.

Strategic Alliance with Straumann Group

A co-branded digital future powered by integrated workflows

Further amplifying its global reach, SprintRay announced a strategic partnership with the Straumann Group, a leader in digital dental workflows. The alliance centers around a co-branded Straumann Signature Midas by SprintRay, which will integrate with the Straumann AXS platform and SIRIOS intraoral scanner. Together, both companies will also co-develop new implant workflows.

“SprintRay continues to push the boundaries of digital dentistry across the globe, and IDS 2025 is the perfect platform to showcase our latest advancements and strategic partnerships,” said Mansouri. “With Midas Digital Press and our expanding material portfolio, we are empowering dental professionals with the tools they need to deliver faster, more precise, and highly aesthetic restorations. Our new collaboration with the Straumann Group marks a significant milestone in dental 3D printing, which will immediately expand access to these end-to-end clinical workflows for more users and meet the growing demand of single-visit treatments.”
