Company flags Project Catalyst savings and tariff exposure as risks to future distributions
The release cautions that the amount and timing of future cash distributions are forward-looking and subject to risk. Stepan names its ability to realize cost savings from strategic initiatives, including Project Catalyst, as one factor. It also cites restructuring activities such as facility closures and decommissioning, volatile raw material and energy costs, and changes in global trade policies, tariffs and retaliatory measures.
The company also lists compliance with its debt covenants and access to credit and capital markets among the risks that could cause results to differ from expectations.
