SHERIDAN, WYOMING – March 26, 2025 - Revolutionizing Digital Dentistry at the International Dental Show

Straumann Group has taken center stage at the International Dental Show (IDS) 2025 in Cologne, presenting a unified, end-to-end digital dentistry ecosystem designed to streamline clinical workflows, empower clinicians, and improve patient care. Anchoring these innovations is the global launch of Straumann AXS, the company’s open cloud-based collaboration platform, now fully introduced across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

“Our mission is to create superior, differentiated solutions that empower clinicians to push clinical boundaries and enhance practice efficiency,” stated Guillaume Daniellot, Chief Executive Officer. “Following its successful commercialization in North America, Straumann AXS is now fully launched in Europe, integrating the SIRIOS intraoral scanner and the AI-powered coDiagnostiX software… including the innovative iEXCEL implant system… [and] the newly launched UN!Q prosthetics services, optimizing digital workflows and patient care.”

Integrated Digital Workflow for the Entire Dental Journey

Straumann AXS delivers an integrated workflow that spans the entire treatment journey—from data capture and diagnostics to planning, design, production, and execution. At its core is seamless interoperability between hardware, software, and services.

The SIRIOS intraoral scanner is a compact, wireless device that delivers high-speed, high-accuracy scans. Combined with model building and edentulous workflow capabilities, it enhances treatment planning precision. This is further strengthened by the partnership with Carestream Dental, enabling CBCT system integration into AXS for superior diagnostics and guided surgery workflows.

coDiagnostiX, Straumann’s AI-powered surgical planning tool, reduces data prep time while enhancing anatomy visualization, thanks to its cloud-based, dongle-free version now fully integrated with AXS. The AI assistant helps clinicians plan treatments quickly and accurately, contributing to improved decision-making.

From Design to Delivery: UN!Q and Smile-in-a-Box

As part of Straumann’s digital production ecosystem, the UN!Q prosthetics service and Smile-in-a-Box guided surgery solution bring lab-quality precision directly into the digital workflow. UN!Q enables dental labs to outsource planning and production of customized prosthetics via the cloud. Smile-in-a-Box delivers a modular service for guided surgery with immediate protocols, enhancing treatment predictability and reducing chair time.

Single-Visit Treatments with SprintRay Partnership

Taking real-time dentistry to the next level, Straumann’s strategic collaboration with 3D printing leader SprintRayintroduces a cutting-edge chairside workflow. At the heart of this is the Straumann Signature Midas, a co-branded version of SprintRay’s Midas Digital Press 3D printer, capable of printing crowns, inlays, and onlays in under 10 minutes.

“The integration of our AXS platform with SprintRay’s 3D printing expertise marks a major milestone,” said Daniellot. “This powerful ecosystem enhances efficiency and patient care, allowing clinicians and patients to experience the future of dentistry today.”

This end-to-end solution enables efficient single-visit treatments and is tightly linked with the SIRIOS scanner and AXS platform for a smooth, connected workflow. Both companies will continue co-developing innovative implant workflows to advance digital dentistry accessibility and impact.

Introducing Straumann iEXCEL Implant System Globally

Another standout at IDS 2025 is the global launch of Straumann iEXCEL, a high-performance implant system combining Roxolid material and the SLActive surface for fast osseointegration. Designed to minimize invasive procedures, iEXCEL unifies four implant designs into one system with a single instrument kit, simplifying inventory and enhancing clinical flexibility.

EMEA Rollout of Falcon Dynamic Navigation System

Rounding out Straumann’s comprehensive offerings is Falcon, its real-time dynamic surgical navigation solution, now launched in key EMEA markets. With a compact, all-in-one computer, compatibility with smart glasses, and full edentulous case capability, Falcon supports precise, real-time guidance during surgery.
