Suvoda Opens Sofia AI Assistant to All New RTSM/IRT, eCOA Trials

Conshohocken – October 13, 2026 -- Suvoda has made Sofia, its AI assistant on the Suvoda Platform, available for all new clinical trials using Suvoda RTSM/IRT or Suvoda eCOA, giving sponsors, CROs and sites faster access to trial data and the ability to act on it.

Sofia first launched with a group of early adopter companies that helped shape the product. The rollout extends it to every new trial on the two Suvoda products.

Sofia executes authorized system actions, not just queries

For authorized users, Sofia can carry out system actions in a single conversation. Before acting, it summarizes what it will do and asks for confirmation. Every action is attributed to the requesting user, governed by existing roles and permissions, and recorded in a full audit trail.

Validated knowledge space replaces open-ended language model output

Suvoda says Sofia does not simply apply a large language model to a question. Conversational AI maps each question's intent to Suvoda's validated knowledge space, where subject matter experts have turned expert guidance into validated skills. Those skills run against live study data inside a governed framework that protects the study blind and creates the audit trail clinical trials require.

Sofia currently supports more than 40 topics, and Suvoda says it is expanding the list continuously.

Targeting routine operational workload

Trial teams track drug inventory, review shipment details, monitor patient visit schedules and manage questionnaire compliance across global sites. Suvoda argues that checking these data streams pulls attention from patients and judgment-intensive decisions. Chief Product Officer E.K. Koh said Sofia handles routine operational work so teams can focus on decisions requiring their judgment.

Daiichi Sankyo cites fewer steps per task

Dawn Sorenson, Director of the IRT Center of Excellence at Daiichi Sankyo, said her teams quickly incorporated Sofia into daily workflow. She said it summarizes documentation and answers operational questions, and that tasks once requiring multiple steps can now be handled through a simple conversation. Suvoda did not publish quantified efficiency figures.

Data privacy controls and language support

Suvoda states that Sofia operates under a zero-data retention policy and never uses customer data to train public models. Each user's access is limited to what they are already authorized to see on the platform. Sofia responds in the language of the question, supporting teams across regions and time zones.

Sofia recently received the PM360 Innovation Award in the Artificial Intelligence category.
