Sword-led consortium wins €93M eu-LISA Entry/Exit System deal

Windhof – October 31, 2026 -- A consortium led by Sword Services Greece has been ranked first for a four-year framework contract worth an estimated €93 million to develop and maintain the EU's Entry/Exit System (EES). The award came under the Dynamic Purchasing System of eu-LISA, the EU agency for large-scale IT systems.

Sword Services Greece leads Netcompany and Sopra Steria in the winning bid

The consortium combines Sword Services Greece with Netcompany and Sopra Steria. It will cover application design, development, testing and maintenance of the EES Core, Webservices, Shared Components and API/PNR elements, plus components linked to those applications.

EES digitally records entry and exit of non-EU short-stay travellers

The system is designed to modernise management of the Schengen Area's external borders by digitally recording the entry and exit of non-EU nationals travelling for short stays. The source frames the aim as enhanced security and efficiency.

Sword already works on several eu-LISA border management initiatives

Sword is involved in several key initiatives supporting the agency's broader border management and interoperability programmes. The new award extends that existing collaboration with eu-LISA.

Nikos Mastroyiannopoulos, Managing Director of Sword Services Greece, called the first-place ranking "a strong recognition" of his teams' expertise and commitment in supporting eu-LISA and European institutions.

Sword Group employs more than 3,600 IT and digital specialists across over 50 countries. The company publishes Q2 2026 revenue on July 23 and presents H1 2026 results at an SFAF meeting in Lyon on September 10.
