San Francisco – November 05, 2026 -- Tessell, a multi-cloud database-as-a-service (DBaaS) provider, has launched three specialized agents built on Google's Gemini that let enterprise teams run Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL and MySQL workloads through natural-language commands. Google showed the agents live at Oracle AI World on Oct. 28.
Database administrators, site reliability engineers, platform owners and migration teams can use the chat interface as a conversational control plane. On Google Cloud, all underlying infrastructure operations route automatically to Google hardware, including memory-optimized M4/M4N Compute Engine series and Hyperdisk Extreme/Balanced storage.
Ops Agent automates recovery, scaling and credential rotation
The Tessell Ops Agent covers day-to-day administration. It gathers parameters, instantiates high-availability database engines and inspects real-time service and host metrics such as CPU load and blocking sessions. It also automates point-in-time recovery, vertical scaling, credential rotation and blueprint deployment.
Governance Agent generates PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 attestation summaries
The Tessell Governance Agent configures backup SLAs, disaster recovery topologies and Customer-Managed Encryption Keys (CMEK). It audits role-based entitlements and applies automated data-masking templates to dev/test clones. It also produces compliance attestation summaries for PCI DSS, ISO 27001 and SOC 2 audits.
Tessell is targeting banks, insurers, healthcare providers and government agencies. Data, keys and access remain inside the customer's own cloud account.
Migrate Agent tracks replication lag and re-platforms Oracle SE to PostgreSQL
The Tessell Migrate Agent inventories source estates across on-premises systems, AWS RDS and virtual machines. It calculates target Google Cloud configurations, drafts step-by-step execution runbooks and tracks replication pipelines with in-chat metrics such as CDC replication lag. It also supports engine modernization, including moving legacy Oracle SE workloads to PostgreSQL on Google Cloud.
Co-Founder and CEO Bala Kuchibhotla said migration planning and cross-region failover rehearsals "used to take weeks of runbooks, tickets, and handoffs." He said the agents now start that work with a conversation and give customers one operating model across multi-cloud estates.
Co-Founder Kamal Khanuja said the agents execute backend workflows, from provisioning pre-approved blueprints to orchestrating cross-region disaster recovery failovers, while customers keep data ownership within their own VPCs and keys.
Enterprise preview customers get access this quarter
The Tessell agents for Gemini will be available to enterprise preview customers starting this quarter.
