ChipMOS August Revenue Jumps 33.3% YoY on AI Memory Demand
Hsinchu – September 15, 2026 -- ChipMOS Technologies Inc. reported August 2026 consolidated revenue of NT$2,785.7 million (US$88.0 million), up 33.3% from August 2025 but down 1.3% from July 2026.
AI-driven memory shortage lifts ChipMOS revenue 33.3% year-on-year
The Taiwan-based outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) provider attributed the growth to a persistent AI-related demand/supply imbalance in the memory market. The August figure, based on an exchange rate of NT$31.67 to US$1.00, marks a slight sequential pullback from July but retains a substantial year-over-year gain.
Company ties capacity expansion strictly to confirmed customer orders
ChipMOS said it is working with customers to address both near- and long-term requirements while maintaining discipline in footprint expansion. New capacity additions are being aligned specifically with committed customer demand rather than speculative growth, the company said.
