DELRAY BEACH – October 30, 2026 -- The low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite market is projected to grow from USD 12.82 billion in 2026 to USD 43.37 billion by 2031, a compound annual growth rate of 27.6%, according to a MarketsandMarkets forecast.

Defense, navigation and small satellites lead segment growth

Defense is the fastest-growing customer segment. Demand is driven by secure communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), navigation support and persistent monitoring, along with rising investment in resilient space architectures and proliferated LEO constellations.

Navigation is the fastest-growing application, as transportation, defense, aviation, maritime and autonomous-systems users seek more accurate positioning, navigation and timing. LEO-based PNT augmentation systems are being deployed to deliver lower latency, stronger signal availability and greater resilience than traditional navigation architectures.
