Chainguard Launches Checks to Move CI Into AI Agent Dev Loops

Chainguard Launches Checks to Move CI Into AI Agent Dev Loops

Seattle – October 14, 2026 -- Chainguard has launched Chainguard Checks in Beta, a continuous verification engine that returns signed, trusted test results to developers and AI agents in seconds, before code reaches a pull request.

The product targets a bottleneck created by agentic development. Traditional CI was built for developers who push code a few times a day, while agents iterate constantly. Every change lands in the same queue, and results often return after the agent has lost its working context. Teams also pay repeatedly for the same setup work.

Chainguard Checks suspends agent sessions during test runs to halt compute use

Chainguard Checks works with the newly launched Chainguard Workspaces. An agent session suspends while checks execute, which stops compute consumption. It then resumes in seconds, with structured failure logs injected directly into its context so it can iterate until tests pass.

Huyett Enters Structural Bolting With Hundreds of Items in Stock

Minneapolis – – October 14, 2026 -- Fastener master distributor and manufacturer Huyett has entered the structural bolting market with hundreds of items stocked at its La Porte, Texas, location, sold in less-than-full-can quantities.

Huyett stocks A325 bolts, heavy hex nuts and DTI washers in La Porte

The inventory includes A325 bolts, A563 DH nuts, A194 2H nuts, F436 washers and Direct Tension Indicator (DTI) washers, in both standard and visual versions.

Broken-can sales let buyers avoid overstocking

Customers can purchase only the quantities they need rather than full cans. Huyett says this addresses overstock for buyers who do not want to commit to full-can volumes.

CEO Timothy O'Keeffe said Huyett fills a unique channel position as an outlet for large manufacturers, supporting odd lots in what he called a "high-growth product line."

Seattle – October 14, 2026 -- Chainguard has extended its Libraries product to Go and .NET, added CVE remediation for JavaScript and Go, and begun delivering fixes for zero-day vulnerabilities on the day they are made public.

Chainguard Libraries for Go and .NET are available in Early Access. They give engineering teams and AI agents a managed endpoint for pulling dependencies without exposure to malicious packages.

Chainguard cites 76% AI-attack exposure among security leaders

Chainguard's AI Exploit Gap report found that 76% of cybersecurity leaders say their organization has experienced, or suspects it has experienced, an AI-driven attack in the last 12 months. Attackers publish malicious packages, hijack trusted ones, and register names of packages that do not yet exist, counting on developers and AI agents to install them unchecked. AI also lets anyone build and publish malicious packages or exploit CVEs and fresh zero-days.

Moline – October 14, 2026 -- The John Deere Foundation has committed $18.5 million over multiple years to a Farm-to-Plate strategy that channels surplus farm output to food banks, with more than $13 million earmarked for Iowa.

The package is anchored by a $17 million, three-year commitment to Feeding America and a $1.5 million, three-year partnership with The Farmlink Project. Funds will go toward recovering surplus produce, building direct farmer-to-food-bank channels and mobilizing John Deere employees for local hunger relief.

Iowa initiative targets 100+ farmers across three food banks

A new "Farm to Food Bank" initiative will help three Iowa food banks expand existing partnerships with farmers, lifting participation to more than 100 producers. The program is designed to open new market outlets for farmers while routing more locally grown food to families facing hunger.

Ozinga Opens 1M-Ton Slag Cement Mill in East Chicago

CHICAGO – October 14, 2026 -- Ozinga has opened a slag cement mill in East Chicago, Indiana, with capacity of 1 million tons per year. The company calls it the largest of its kind in North America. Its blends are designed to cut embodied carbon by up to 80% compared with traditional Portland cement mixes.

Mill targets 700,000 metric tons of annual CO2 offsets

At full operation, the plant is projected to offset more than 700,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions a year. Ozinga equates that to taking more than 150,000 gasoline-powered passenger vehicles off the road for a year.

The facility will produce ASTM C989-compliant slag cement. It will also make proprietary blends under the CarbonSenseTM brand that meet ASTM C1157 performance standards. The process recycles slag, a by-product of steelmaking. Traditional Portland cement accounts for nearly 7% of global CO2 emissions.

Americase Panel Targets Data Center Battery Code Conflicts at OCP

Waxahachie, Texas – October 14, 2026 -- Americase International will use a 25-minute panel at the 2026 Open Compute Project (OCP) Global Summit on Oct. 15 to address conflicting codes for shipping, installing, storing and disposing of lithium batteries in AI data centers. Operators must reconcile rules that differ by country and jurisdiction as AI drives demand for battery energy storage systems (ESS).

South Korean UPS battery fire hit 647 government systems

On Sept. 26, 2025, a lithium-ion battery fire at South Korea's National Information Resources Service data center in Daejeon affected 647 government information systems and disrupted public services nationwide. Officials said the fire started in an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) battery that was being relocated during maintenance. Americase cites the incident as evidence that consistent rules for handling, relocating and replacing batteries matter as data centers expand energy storage.

SCSP Commission: China Installs 295,000 Robots to US 34,200

Washington – October 14, 2026 -- China installed 295,000 industrial robots in 2024, 54% of the global total, versus 34,200 in the United States, according to the preliminary report of the National Security Commission on Robotics for Advanced Manufacturing, an initiative of the Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP).

The Commission is co-chaired by Senator Ted Budd (R-NC), Senator Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and SCSP President Ylli Bajraktari. It finds that the U.S. leads in the technologies forming the "brain" of robotics, including AI, computer vision, autonomy and software. It lacks the scale to deploy robots, produce robotic systems and manufacture critical components domestically.
