Dublin, Calif. – October 13, 2026 -- TriNet (NYSE: TNET) is rolling out four platform upgrades for small and medium-size businesses (SMBs), adding leave management, applicant tracking and expense control, plus expanded AI assistance, to its HR platform in phases.
TriNet Leave, built on the Cocoon acquisition, is rolling out in phases
TriNet Leave, powered by Cocoon, follows TriNet's acquisition of Cocoon earlier this year. It combines Cocoon's technology with TriNet's leave administration expertise in one experience connected to the TriNet platform. Employers can manage leave requests, compliance obligations, claims tracking and return-to-work processes in a single workflow.
TriNet Recruit and TriNet Spend are due in early January
TriNet Recruit, powered by JazzHR, will give growing businesses a structured applicant tracking workflow. Customers can organize candidates, collaborate on hiring decisions, extend offers and move employee information into onboarding.
TriNet Spend will connect employee, payroll and spending data through an integrated technology partnership. The source does not name the partner. Automated workflows and payroll-connected reimbursements are intended to reduce manual work and provide real-time insight into and control of company expenses.
TriNet Assistant gains voice-enabled mobile and workforce-data queries
The AI-powered enhancements are available now and build on TriNet Assistant. New features include voice-enabled mobile experiences. Administrators can also ask questions about workforce data directly within Reports and Analytics.
Executives frame the update as a push for connected HR tools
Jeff Hayward, EVP and Chief Service and Technology Officer, said TriNet will keep investing in AI-powered intelligence and connected experiences to help customers decide faster and cut administrative work. Chief Product Officer Lisa Reeves said customers do not treat HR as separate silos, and the enhancements combine TriNet's technology, embedded partner solutions and HR expertise across hiring, employee support and business management.
