UrgentIQ Raises $15M Series A to Build AI Operating System for Urgent Care

New York – September 16, 2026 -- UrgentIQ has secured a $15 million Series A growth investment from Five Elms Capital to expand its AI-native electronic medical record platform for urgent care centers.

Five Elms Capital backs UrgentIQ's push beyond EMR into full clinical-financial platform

The funding will accelerate UrgentIQ's roadmap into a unified system covering AI-powered documentation, automated coding, revenue cycle management, insurance verification, and checkout. Founder and CEO Nat Gibbs built the platform specifically for urgent care workflows, distinguishing it from legacy EMRs adapted from hospital or primary care settings.

UrgentIQ reports 9.7/10 customer satisfaction as clinics cite faster patient throughput

Customers using the platform have reported significant improvements in patient throughput times, driven by agentic AI automation. Gibbs said urgent care operates under compressed decision windows where providers have minutes rather than hours, and every visit must move seamlessly from care delivery to payment collection.

New capabilities target native billing, AI diagnosis coding, and automated checkout

With Five Elms' investment, UrgentIQ plans to build a native billing module to bring revenue cycle management in-house, alongside advanced AI-powered diagnosis and coding tools, live insurance verification, and an AI checkout agent. The company positions these features to help clinics see more patients, capture more revenue, and cut administrative workload at every stage of a visit.

Platform targets both independent operators and consolidating multi-site groups

As the urgent care market consolidates around private equity-backed platforms and multi-site operators, UrgentIQ is positioning itself to serve both independent clinics and larger networks seeking a scalable, modern system. Joe Onofrio, Partner at Five Elms Capital, said the platform has achieved exceptional operator adoption and product satisfaction metrics, calling the urgent care market overdue for a purpose-built solution.
