US Foods Workers Ratify Contract With 70% Wage Hikes

Los Angeles – – October 07, 2026 -- More than 500 US Foods drivers, warehouse workers, and mechanics have ratified a four-year labor contract delivering wage increases averaging between 66 and 70 percent over the life of the agreement. The deal, approved by members of Teamsters Locals 87, 542, 630, 848, and 986, also secures automation protections, increased pension contributions, and fully employer-paid health insurance.

Workers secure automation protections alongside wage gains

The ratified agreement includes language specifically designed to shield union jobs from displacement by automated systems, a growing concern across the logistics and food distribution sector. Pension contributions rise under the new terms, while health coverage remains fully funded by the employer with no cost shift to workers.

Southern California supply routes depend on affected workforce

The covered employees deliver to restaurants, major universities, and hospital systems across Southern California. US Foods is one of the largest food service distributors in the United States, and the Teamsters union represents more than 5,500 US Foods workers nationwide, making this Southern California unit one segment of a much larger national workforce.

Union leadership frames deal as industry benchmark

Tom Erickson, Director of the Teamsters Warehouse Division, called the contract one of the strongest ever secured in the food service distribution industry. Kevin Burrow, a 40-year US Foods employee and shop steward with Local 630, said the negotiation required sustained pressure from union leadership to reach the final terms.
