Hamburg – November 04, 2026 -- Hamburg-based Vitalent says its matching platform has filled more than 1,000 positions at over 600 healthcare companies, and that 93 percent of projects end the first twelve weeks with a hire who stays beyond the six-month probation period.
Platform reverses the application model for healthcare staff
Founded by Lars Vollrath and Ben Burmester, Vitalent lets nursing staff, medical and dental assistants (MFA, ZFA), therapists and other healthcare professionals register free of charge, anonymously and in compliance with GDPR. Employers are presented to these candidates rather than waiting for applications. Candidates enter their qualifications, preferred region and conditions.
Vitalent reaches them through its registered user base, its own CV database with in-house matching logic, and job ads on more than 700 regional and specialist partner portals, Google and social media. Data- and AI-based placement directs the ads to channels with the best expected response.
Five-step process targets a six-week time to hire
The employer first names its criteria in a free initial consultation, where Vitalent presents matching CVs before any contract is signed. After order confirmation, Vitalent phones the selected candidates the same day. A ten- to fifteen-minute call then covers qualifications, German language skills, salary, commute and expectations, and documents are checked for authenticity.
The employer receives contact details and availability windows, so the next call concerns only an interview date. On average, three to five candidate introductions are sufficient. Vitalent accompanies the probation period and provides a free replacement if the hire leaves.
First interviews typically take place after about two weeks, and the position is usually filled after roughly six weeks. More than 13 recruiters, each specialized in a field from therapy and medical practices to nursing and hospitals, staff the model.
Vollrath said the goal is for an employer to speak with three suitable candidates instead of thirty unsuitable ones.
Berlin, Leipheim and Kaiserslautern placements completed in four to six weeks
- A dental laboratory in Berlin hired two dental technicians in four weeks.
- A dental practice in Leipheim hired two dental assistants in six weeks.
- A physiotherapy practice in Kaiserslautern hired one physiotherapist after six weeks.
Success-only fees aimed at long-vacant roles
The platform targets doctors' and dentists' practices, therapy practices, medical care centers (MVZ), outpatient care services, inpatient care facilities, social service providers, clinics and hospitals. Demand is highest for roles that have stayed unfilled through job ads for months. Employers pay only if a hire is made.
On request, a separate consulting team works with employers on perceived attractiveness through PR, tax-advantaged benefit models and workshops. Services are tailored individually, with no flat-rate packages.
Vitalent was built over four years and is now part of an investor group.
