MIRABEL – October 27, 2026 -- Volatus Aerospace Inc. (TSX: FLT) has qualified in all five streams of the Government of Canada's Defence Drone Initiative (DDI) Marketplace, widening the range of defence requirements it can bid on.
Five streams cover systems, services and training
The streams are Uncrewed and Autonomous Systems (UxS) and counter-UxS; communications and data systems; engineering and integration services; testing and training; and innovation and experimentation.
The qualification follows Volatus' September 3, 2026 announcement of its initial selection for the Marketplace. The later confirmation extends eligibility across the full Marketplace scope.
Marketplace links the Department of National Defence with pre-qualified Canadian suppliers
The DDI Marketplace is a streamlined procurement mechanism. It connects the Department of National Defence and the Canadian Armed Forces with pre-qualified Canadian suppliers, with the aim of speeding access to emerging technologies.
CEO Glen Lynch said full-stream qualification lets Volatus pursue opportunities that require an integrated mix of aircraft, autonomy, engineering, systems integration, training and operational expertise, not only individual requirements.
Mirabel hub and Vaughan control centre anchor the bid
Volatus cites its Innovation and Manufacturing Hub in Mirabel, Quebec, and its Operations Control Centre in Vaughan, Ontario, as the base for its defence work. The company serves defence and security customers in Canada and allied markets.
Qualification carries no contract award or revenue guarantee
Volatus states that qualification is not a procurement contract award and does not guarantee future revenue. It only allows the company to compete for applicable requirements issued through the Marketplace. The timing, scope and value of any resulting opportunities depend on future requirements, competitive procurement processes and Government of Canada decisions.
