SHERIDAN, WYOMING – Feb. 15, 2025, XPONENTIAL Europe, the new leading forum for uncrewed systems and robotics, will make its debut at the Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre from February 18 to 20, 2025. Under the banner of "Next Level Autonomy," the event will bring together key players across the entire autonomous technology value chain, from OEMs to start-ups. A central enabler of the event's high-tech demonstrations will be a private 5G campus network provided by Vodafone, the official connectivity partner of XPONENTIAL Europe.
5G Campus Network: The Foundation for Technological Demonstrations
Vodafone will deploy a private 5G campus network in Hall 1, providing the high-performance infrastructure necessary for exhibitors to showcase their technologies under real-world conditions – live, interactively, and with minimal latency. This cutting-edge network offers numerous advantages:
- Ultra-High Speed and Minimal Latency: Ideal for real-time demonstrations, augmented/virtual reality (AR/VR) applications, and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies.
- Maximum Data Security: All data remains entirely within the exhibition infrastructure.
- Reliable Coverage: Up to eight antennas ensure a stable connection throughout Hall 1.
- Edge Computing: Data is processed directly on-site, ensuring speed and efficiency.
- Dedicated Infrastructure: Designed exclusively for XPONENTIAL Europe, the network provides optimal conditions for complex applications.
"Real-time mobile communications react as fast as the human nervous system and are the driving force for autonomous cars, robots and processes in small and large factory halls. This technology will be impressively tangible at XPONENTIAL Europe," explains Michael Bösinger, Head of TETP at Vodafone GmbH.
"We are very pleased that we can celebrate a premiere on our exhibition grounds with the use of the 5G campus network. This infrastructure takes the technological equipment of our events to a new level and the cooperation with Vodafone shows the innovative power that a collaboration between two Düsseldorf companies can have," emphasizes Wolfram N. Diener, CEO of Messe Düsseldorf.
Vodafone's Booth: Experiencing Autonomous Systems and 5G Innovation
Attendees will have the opportunity to experience firsthand how autonomous systems, IoT, and drone technologies are transforming industry and everyday life at the Vodafone booth. Vodafone will showcase control methods such as VR-supported gesture interaction and powerful industrial drone solutions, demonstrating the diverse added value of these technologies and the real-time network.
Among the exhibits will be an industrial drone in helicopter design, capable of flight times of up to two and a half hours and speeds of up to 100 km/h. A drone arm that facilitates drone take-off and landing in adverse weather conditions, as well as the latest solutions for drone localization and control, will also be on display. Visitors can even experience the latter themselves in an immersive virtual environment, allowing them to personally explore the future of automation.
A Comprehensive Supporting Program with International Highlights
In addition to live demonstrations from MIRA (a Rheinmetall subsidiary), Rheinbahn, and Quantum Systems, as well as hands-on high-tech from across Europe, attendees can expect a diverse conference program exploring the future of international autonomy. Key highlights include:
- The European Drone Forum (EDF): Organized by UAV DACH (February 17-18), this forum serves as a central platform for the international drone economy.
- The XPONENTIAL Europe Conference by AUVSI: Featuring inspiring keynotes each day from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, before the trade fair opens, bringing together visitors and exhibitors from across all industries.
- The Standards Forum: Promoting collaboration between standards organizations in the US, Europe and its member states, and industry worldwide.
- The DRONERESPONDERS Public Safety Forum: Focusing on public safety and disaster relief applications.
- The XPO+ Launcher: A stage for start-ups to present groundbreaking innovations and investment potential.
- The Innovation Theater: Showcasing high-tech demonstrations and real-world use cases.
