Yantai – October 29, 2026 -- Translators and journalists from China, Germany, Egypt, Pakistan, Morocco and Russia toured Yantai in Shandong Province from October 11 to 13, 2026, visiting a biopharmaceutical producer and an intelligent-manufacturing company as part of a city-promotion program.
CICG translation academy and Yantai's party propaganda department co-organized the visit
The event was jointly run by the Academy of Translation and Interpreting of the China International Communications Group (CICG) and the Publicity Department of the Yantai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China. Participants carried out on-site research and discussed their work.
Itinerary covered RemeGen, Gogetter Intelligence and a maritime eco-resort
The program included RemeGen Co., Ltd. (Yantai), a biopharmaceutical company, and Yantai Gogetter Intelligence Technology Co., Ltd., a technology company. Organizers presented the stops as evidence of the city's strengths in biopharmaceuticals and intelligent manufacturing.
Participants also visited the historic Penglai Pavilion complex and Kongtong Wonderland, described as China's first maritime eco-resort, which offers an immersive experience built around legends and fairy tales. Organizers positioned the site as an example of Yantai's maritime cultural tourism.
Delegates debated science communication and city branding from a maritime-civilization angle
The guests exchanged views on cultural translation, communicating scientific and technological innovation, and the international communication of cities. The source material gives no investment figures, contract values or production data for the companies visited.
Organizers said Yantai's work on cultural heritage, the modernization of its industrial structure and new cultural-tourism offerings is drawing growing numbers of people to visit, settle or contribute to its development.
