Adani Airports Raises $1B, Valued at $18B by Global Investors

Ahmedabad, India – September 13, 2026 -- Adani Airport Holdings Limited (AAHL) has signed binding agreements to raise ₹9,825 crore (approximately USD 1 billion) in primary equity from a consortium including Alpha Wave Global, Premji Invest, Temasek and BlackRock managed funds, valuing the airports platform at roughly USD 18 billion pre-money.

Investor consortium to hold 5.54% stake after three funding tranches

Under a Share Subscription Agreement and Shareholders' Agreement, the investors will inject capital in three tranches, with the final installment expected by July 2027. Once complete, the consortium will collectively own approximately 5.54% of AAHL, marking one of the largest primary equity investments by financial institutions in India's airport infrastructure sector.

Proceeds to fund capacity expansion for 200 million annual passengers

AAHL, a subsidiary of Adani Enterprises Limited, plans to deploy the funds toward modernizing and expanding its airport portfolio to handle approximately 200 million passengers annually. A parallel priority is the buildout of integrated Adani Airport City developments, with roughly 22 million square feet of mixed-use space planned in the first phase. Capital will also scale AAHL's ground handling operations and other non-aeronautical revenue streams.

Transaction follows AEL's record ₹15,000 crore QIP in July 2026

The equity raise builds on Adani Enterprises Limited's ₹15,000 crore qualified institutional placement completed in July 2026, which the company describes as India's largest QIP by a non-financial corporate. Together, the two transactions extend the Adani portfolio's access to long-term domestic and global institutional capital pools.
