Altamont Software Brings CaptureWare Video to iPhone and iPad

PLEASANTON, Calif. – October 27, 2026 -- Altamont Software has made CaptureWare Video, its enterprise medical video capture solution, available on iPhone and iPad. Providers can now record medical video and still images at the bedside, in the clinic and at other point-of-care locations without a desktop computer.

Mobile devices connect to any scope through a low-cost USB capture card

A phone or tablet can be linked to any scope via a USB capture card, which Altamont says removes the need for a desktop computer or costly video connection box. The app forwards captured clinical images and video to PACS, VNA and the EMR. It also integrates medical video directly into Epic Lumens.

Enterprise licensing and vendor-neutral capture target PACS silos

Altamont says the solution is based on cost-effective enterprise licensing. It expands existing enterprise imaging IT infrastructure and eliminates scope vendor-specific PACS silos. Since launch, the product has let providers integrate scopes from every department and send identified clinical information to existing EHR, PACS and VNA systems.

CaptureWare Video runs on the company's Connectivity Platform, which also supports DICOM SR integration, eForms and document capture.

Chris Barnett, President and Co-Founder of Altamont Software, said the mobile release gives providers flexibility to capture content "wherever care is delivered." He described the aim as a single connectivity platform for any image or video source feeding the EMR.

Altamont to demonstrate mobile capture at RSNA 2026 in Chicago

The company will show CaptureWare Video on mobile at Booth #7808 in the North Hall at the RSNA 2026 Scientific Assembly and Annual Meeting in Chicago, November 29 to December 3. The demonstration will also cover its DICOM SR and AI-based report-integration capabilities, eForms, and document, photo and digital media applications.
