Arlington, Va. – September 14, 2026 -- Bloomberg Tax has partnered with Decision Modeling, Inc. (DMI) to integrate uncertain tax position (UTP) calculations from DMI's Tax Position Manager software directly into Bloomberg Tax Provision, eliminating a manual data-transfer step for corporate tax departments.
Integration targets one of the most complex areas of income tax provision reporting
UTP calculations, governed by ASC 740-10 and FIN 48 standards, are among the most risk-sensitive components of the tax provision process. The collaboration allows shared customers to run DMI's specialized UTP calculations alongside Bloomberg Tax Provision's audit-ready workflow without switching between disconnected systems.
Executives frame the move as reducing manual work across tax workflows
Dave Boucher, Managing Partner at DMI, said tax departments want technology that works together rather than in silos, and that the collaboration gives shared customers a more connected experience for managing tax risk. Evan Croen, Head of Bloomberg Tax, said the integration brings specialized UTP data into Bloomberg Tax Provision to help customers manage complexity and reduce manual work.
DMI brings two decades of federal and state tax compliance software experience
DMI has provided interest and penalty software and uncertain tax position solutions for over 20 years, with clients including Fortune 500 companies, national accounting firms, federal government agencies, and law firms. Bloomberg Tax Provision is used by corporate tax teams to calculate and report income tax provisions through an integrated platform.
