Shanghai – September 08, 2026 -- Carestream Healthcare International has launched an upgraded version of its DRX-LC Detector, adding AI-driven noise cancellation and automated exposure control to speed up long-length imaging exams such as spine and long-bone radiography.
New detector cuts retakes with single-exposure imaging
The DRX-LC Detector captures long-bone and spine exams in a single shot, replacing the traditional multi-exposure, image-stitching workflow. Carestream says this reduces patient hold time and minimizes the need for retakes.
Detector Exposure Control automates dose optimization
The new Detector Exposure Control (DEC) feature automatically adjusts imaging parameters to reduce variability across exposures, aiming to optimize radiation dose while improving diagnostic accuracy.
Smart Noise Cancellation targets image clarity at lower dose
Smart Noise Cancellation (SNC) reduces image noise while preserving fine detail, according to the company, enabling higher-quality diagnostic images at reduced radiation exposure.
"Our latest DRX-LC enhancements are focused on delivering more consistent, efficient, and high-quality imaging," said Marco Riolfo, Detector Portfolio Product Line Manager at Carestream Healthcare International. He added that combining single-capture imaging with intelligent exposure control and AI-driven noise cancellation helps radiography departments simplify workflows.
Detector compatibility spans DR rooms, mobile units and operating rooms
Carestream designed the DRX-LC Detector for compatibility across DR rooms, mobile imaging systems, and retrofit installations, allowing a single unit to be deployed across radiology departments and operating rooms.
