Rockville, Md. – November 04, 2026 -- More than ten customers are already licensing Ceva's Bluetooth High Data Throughput (HDT) IP, the chip-IP vendor said, as the technology debuts in the newly adopted Bluetooth Core 7.0 specification. Ceva (NASDAQ: CEVA) said HDT delivers nearly four times the previous maximum Bluetooth throughput, with higher capacity, better energy efficiency and improved reliability.
Bluetooth Core 7.0 extends Bluetooth LE to data-intensive applications
HDT expands Bluetooth Low Energy to cover high-resolution and lossless wireless audio, immersive and spatial computing, AI-enabled devices and advanced industrial systems. Transferring more data in less time also cuts energy use, according to Ceva.
Ceva pairs in-house RF with baseband and protocol stack
Ceva began investing in HDT before the specification was finalized and expanded its RF capabilities in parallel. In January 2025 it introduced Ceva-Waves Links200, a turnkey multi-protocol wireless connectivity platform that supports HDT. Combined with Ceva's digital baseband and software, the internally developed RF gives customers a complete HDT solution spanning RF, baseband and protocol stack.
The company also ran interoperability testing with other HDT chipset providers, which it says helps customers speed development and reduce integration risk.
U.S. chipmaker and Actions Technology adopt Ceva's HDT IP
A leading U.S. semiconductor company licensed Ceva's complete HDT solution, including the in-house RF technology. Actions Technology launched its ATS296X wireless audio SoC family built on Ceva-Waves Bluetooth HDT IP.
Tal Shalev, Vice President and General Manager of Ceva's Wireless IoT Business Unit, pointed to "strong momentum" behind higher-performance Bluetooth, citing the early HDT investment, expanded RF and proven interoperability.
The Ceva-Waves portfolio also covers Bluetooth LE, Dual-Mode (LE+Classic), Wi-Fi and Ultra-Wideband, including multi-protocol turnkey Radio Subsystem platforms with embedded RF. Ceva says its wireless connectivity IP is deployed in billions of devices.
