Coherix AI System Cuts Auto Assembly Downtime, Saves $22,500 Weekly

Ann Arbor, Michigan – September 11, 2026 -- Coherix has launched GlassMaster Tracker, a 3D AI-based inspection system that has eliminated up to five hours of weekly assembly line downtime for several automotive customers, generating estimated savings of $22,500 per week.

System tracks parts in real time during adhesive dispensing, not after

Unlike conventional inspection tools that only flag defects post-dispensing, GlassMaster Tracker continuously monitors windshield and battery-cover parts as adhesive is applied, automatically adjusting the robot's dispensing path in real time to compensate for part-to-part variation in glass shape and battery-cover geometry.

Structural safety stakes are high for windshields and battery seals

A properly bonded windshield provides up to 60 percent of a vehicle cabin's structural strength, a factor in preventing roof collapse during rollover accidents. Poorly sealed battery packs risk moisture intrusion, battery failure and, in severe cases, vehicle fires, according to Coherix.

Company claims first 100 percent inline inspection with full traceability

Coherix Chairman and CEO Dwight Carlson said no other adhesive process control system on the market can track and compensate for glass or battery-cover geometry variations during dispensing in real time. GlassMaster Tracker records and verifies the dispensing process for every part, creating a permanent digital record intended to support quality audits, warranty investigations and regulatory compliance.

Platform has processed millions of parts since 2015 launch

Coherix has installed more than 6,000 of its 3D adaptive process control systems since 2015, inspecting millions of parts for customers worldwide. The company states it has invested more than $100 million and over 1,000,000 engineering hours in the platform.

Customer base spans major OEMs and Tier One suppliers

Coherix counts more than 50 automotive OEMs and 75-plus Tier One suppliers among its customers, including BYD, Ford, Geely, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Mercedes-Benz, Renault, Seres and Toyota, as well as Bosch, Gestamp, Kirchhoff, Kubota and Magna. Channel partners include dispensing equipment makers Graco, Nordson, Durr and Sames, and robot manufacturers FANUC, Kawasaki Robotics, Yamaha Robotics, KUKA, ABB and Yaskawa.
