Bundeswehr Taps FHF to Modernize Mobile Radio Transmitters by 2028

Koblenz – September 08, 2026 -- Germany's Bundeswehr has commissioned Bremen-based FHF Flurfördergeräte GmbH to overhaul eight mobile FM/DAB+ transmission containers for its Center for Operational Communication, with full delivery targeted for mid-2028.

The Federal Office for Equipment, Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw) awarded the regeneration contract to upgrade aging transmission cabins that form part of the military's mobile radio broadcast systems, alongside equipment trucks, power generators and a mobile 25-meter antenna.

Prototype Container Arrives by Year-End, Seven More Follow in 2027-2028

A first prototype unit is scheduled for completion by the end of this year. Following successful testing and acceptance, seven additional containers will be produced through 2027 and 2028, completing the fleet renewal by mid-2028.
