Broken Updates Cost Far More Than UX Gripes, LITSLINK Study Finds

PALO ALTO – October 29, 2026 -- A single faulty CrowdStrike update in July 2024 cost Fortune 500 companies an estimated $5.4 billion, according to a LITSLINK study that finds updates breaking functionality are a far larger risk than interface changes users dislike.

The software development company examined 12 products. Ten, including Microsoft Teams, Google Workspace and Figma, were assessed through regulatory filings and peer-reviewed research. CrowdStrike and Sonos were examined as the costliest failed updates on record.

CrowdStrike: Agentic AI Intrusions Triple in H2 2026

Global – October 25, 2026 -- Agentic intrusions tripled in the second half of 2026 compared with the first half, according to CrowdStrike data, as threat actors hand hacking decisions and command execution to AI agents.

CrowdStrike's report, published on Wednesday, documents four threat actors. Two used sophisticated AI harnesses, the software that connects a large language model to external resources. Two used simpler setups. The firm said the main constraint on scaling such campaigns is "token budgets," not engineering complexity.

Spanish- and English-speaking actor breaches at least 15 Argentine healthcare organizations

The actor used a penetration-testing harness built on the open-source PentestGPT framework, modified with extra hacking scripts. One Anthropic Claude Code agent acted as supervisor and assigned tasks to a second agent. CrowdStrike observed the activity between mid-May and mid-August.

Global – October 19, 2026 -- About 62% of security breaches still involve the human element, according to the 2026 Verizon Data Breach Investigations Report. That figure is pushing retail and hospitality security teams to replace annual compliance videos with human risk management (HRM), which aims to change how employees respond to attacks in real time.

Scattered Spider uses AI voice cloning to turn help desk calls into footholds

Threat groups such as Scattered Spider scrape professional networks like LinkedIn to map organization charts and identify help desk staff and executives to impersonate. They then place high-pressure calls with AI-cloned voices, posing as locked-out employees. The goal is to get agents to reset a password and enroll multi-factor authentication (MFA) on a device the attacker controls.

Threat Intelligence Market to Hit $24.1B by 2032 at 19.52% CAGR

Threat Intelligence Market to Hit $24.1B by 2032 at 19.52% CAGR

Noida – October 15, 2026 -- The global threat intelligence market is projected to grow from USD 5,789.50 million in 2024 to USD 24,108.25 million by 2032, a CAGR of 19.52%, according to a Credence Research Inc. report.

Rising attacker sophistication, expanding cloud and identity attack surfaces and growing automation in security operations are driving demand. Enterprises want intelligence feeds, investigation platforms and managed expertise that help analysts prioritize material threats rather than add to alert volume.

North America holds 42% of demand, Asia Pacific about 25%

The report estimates North America at roughly 42% of global demand, supported by large enterprises, federal and regulated buyers and a dense cybersecurity vendor base. Procurement there increasingly emphasizes measurable detection improvement and integration with existing controls.

CrowdStrike, FBI Disrupt North Korea-Linked Laptop Farms Across U.S.

United States – October 14, 2026 -- CrowdStrike's Counter Adversary Operations team and the FBI disrupted several U.S.-based laptop farms run by the DPRK-nexus adversary FAMOUS CHOLLIMA in late September 2026. The farms let North Korean operatives pose as remote workers at American companies while hiding their location and identity.

CrowdStrike says dozens of victim organizations were identified across the disrupted clusters. They span aerospace, energy, financial services, healthcare, cybersecurity, defense engineering, government technology and consumer technology. The company describes the targeting as sector-agnostic: any employer offering remote work is a revenue opportunity.

NVIDIA Launches Open Agent Safety Platform With CrowdStrike

Austin – October 12, 2026 -- NVIDIA introduced the NVIDIA Open Agent Safety Platform, an open source platform and reference design that applies multi-layered security controls across the software, runtime and infrastructure where AI agents operate, with CrowdStrike collaborating on the effort.

NVIDIA Sentry enforces policy from BlueField-4 DPUs and can quarantine agents in milliseconds

At the software layer, NVIDIA OpenShell provides an open source secure runtime that governs how agents execute, what they can access and where inference occurs. NVIDIA Sentry adds an independent watchdog running on NVIDIA BlueField-4 DPUs. It uses NVIDIA DOCA for out-of-band, in-silicon monitoring of agent activity and policy enforcement.

ClickFix Fake-CAPTCHA Incidents Jump 563% as State Actors Adopt Lure

Global – October 12, 2026 -- Incidents involving fake CAPTCHA lures rose 563% in 2025, according to the CrowdStrike 2026 Global Threat Report, as adversaries including STARDUST CHOLLIMA and VOODOO BEAR adopted the social engineering technique known as ClickFix.

ClickFix turns the victim into the execution mechanism

The attack shows a fake error, CAPTCHA or system message and tells the user to copy a command into the Windows Run dialog, PowerShell or Terminal. In some variants, malicious JavaScript places the command on the clipboard directly.

The pasted command can launch PowerShell, VBScript or another legitimate interpreter to fetch further payloads. CrowdStrike observations show follow-on activity including malware deployment, credential theft, persistence, command and control, and data theft.

CrowdStrike Falcon Next-Gen SIEM Joins CISA's Funded SIEMaaS Stack

United States – October 12, 2026 -- CrowdStrike's Falcon Next-Gen SIEM has been added to CISA's SIEM-as-a-service (SIEMaaS) technology stack, giving eligible federal agencies a path to modernize security operations without using their own program funding.

DEFEND F mechanism acquires SKUs on behalf of agencies

The offering runs through the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense (DEFEND) Group F shared service. It is delivered via CGI Federal's CDM DEFEND F SIEMaaS service. Eligibility is limited to federal civilian agencies that participate in CISA's Persistent Access Capability program and already use CrowdStrike endpoint detection and response (EDR) modules.

CISA has described SIEMaaS as "the Rosetta Stone" for visibility.

Global – October 12, 2026 -- CrowdStrike is adding third-party application insights and AI-enhanced remediation to Falcon Cloud Security, so security teams can identify which cloud-native applications are exposed when an external provider is compromised.

Application code analysis maps vendor dependencies and API operations

Cloud-native applications increasingly rely on third-party and SaaS services for critical business functions. Without dependency visibility, assessing exposure after a provider compromise can mean manually searching code and application inventories.

Global – – October 12, 2026 -- CrowdStrike has made Falcon Data Security for SaaS generally available, starting with Microsoft 365 coverage across SharePoint, OneDrive and Copilot, with plans to add more SaaS applications over time.

Platform classifies PII, PHI and payment card data as files change

The product continuously discovers and classifies sensitive data as files are accessed, modified and shared. Out-of-the-box patterns cover personally identifiable information, protected health information and payment card data, and custom patterns can be added for business-specific content. A classification engine shared across SaaS, endpoint and cloud is meant to close policy gaps between disconnected tools.
