United States – October 12, 2026 -- CrowdStrike's Falcon Next-Gen SIEM has been added to CISA's SIEM-as-a-service (SIEMaaS) technology stack, giving eligible federal agencies a path to modernize security operations without using their own program funding.
DEFEND F mechanism acquires SKUs on behalf of agencies
The offering runs through the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Dynamic and Evolving Federal Enterprise Network Defense (DEFEND) Group F shared service. It is delivered via CGI Federal's CDM DEFEND F SIEMaaS service. Eligibility is limited to federal civilian agencies that participate in CISA's Persistent Access Capability program and already use CrowdStrike endpoint detection and response (EDR) modules.
CISA has described SIEMaaS as "the Rosetta Stone" for visibility.
Platform runs on FedRAMP High-authorized GovCloud
Falcon Next-Gen SIEM runs on the FedRAMP High-authorized Falcon platform in GovCloud. It builds a unified data layer across CrowdStrike and third-party endpoint, identity, cloud, network and edge telemetry. CrowdStrike threat intelligence, AI-powered analytics and Falcon Platform Indicators of Attack (IOAs) are applied across that data, extending CrowdStrike-managed behavioral detections to third-party sources.
Vendor cites 80% lower retention cost than legacy SIEMs
CrowdStrike says its index-free architecture lets agencies retain security data for months or years at up to 80% less cost than legacy SIEMs. It also cites customer outcomes of 3x faster mean time to respond and 70% less manual work. Those gains come from AI features including natural-language queries and Response Agent guidance trained on Falcon Complete managed detection and response (MDR) expertise.
The company points to speed as the driver: average eCrime breakout time was 29 minutes in 2025, according to its 2026 Global Threat Report.
