Atlanta – October 08, 2026 -- Sercomm Corporation (TWSE: 5388) is making its RDK Video Accelerator set-top box, built on the Broadcom BCM74116 chipset, available as reference hardware for application developers, the company said, deepening its collaboration with Broadcom and expanding the hardware options available to the RDK open-source community.

Device will also serve as a YouTube reference platform

The Sercomm 74116 platform is designed for application development, validation and testing on RDK, targeting next-generation video entertainment, interactive TV, cloud gaming and AI-enabled services. Beyond its role as an RDK reference device, the hardware will also function as a YouTube reference device.

Sercomm's 50G PON ONU lineup supports both asymmetric 50G/25G and symmetrical 50G/50G operation

The portfolio, built to ITU-T G.9804.3 specifications, positions 50G PON as the successor to XGS-PON, enabling multi-gigabit symmetrical connectivity for residential, business and mobile-backhaul deployments.

The solution enables tri-PON coexistence with GPON and XGS-PON on shared optical distribution networks

This interoperability protects operators' existing fiber investments and allows a phased migration path from HFC to fiber-deep architectures rather than requiring wholesale infrastructure replacement.
