Dragonfly Energy Embeds Sphere Energy AI in Core Battery Management

Reno – October 27, 2026 -- Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp. (Nasdaq: DFLI) will become the first battery pack manufacturer to place Sphere Energy's AI-powered state-of-health technology at the core of its battery management system (BMS), under a strategic partnership announced Aug. 17.

Sphere's AI models will enter Dragonfly's next-generation BMS architecture

Sphere Energy's proprietary battery AI models, based on its VETTA platform, will be integrated into Dragonfly's next-generation BMS. The integration targets more accurate state-of-charge and state-of-health data. It also creates a more flexible development platform intended to bring new products to market faster in response to specific customer needs.

Hundreds of thousands of deployed packs supply the training data

Dragonfly will combine field operating data from hundreds of thousands of deployed battery packs with Sphere's models. The data spans years of field performance across a broad range of applications. The company will use it to extend its Dragonfly IntelLigence communications technology beyond connectivity and system visibility into an AI-driven intelligence layer across future products and systems.

CEO Denis Phares said the company's field history has created a "powerful data advantage."

Fleet operators and OEMs are the intended beneficiaries

For fleet operators, OEMs and other commercial customers, the more accurate battery intelligence is meant to improve visibility into battery condition and lifecycle performance, supporting asset management and operating decisions. The architecture is also designed to shorten the feedback loop between field performance and product development, helping Dragonfly refine existing products and accelerate future ones.

Luca Scherrer, co-founder and managing director of Sphere Energy, cited Dragonfly's vertically integrated capabilities and established relationships with leading OEM customers as the basis for applying battery-specific AI at scale.

The companies share a link at board level: Dragonfly director Lukas Lutz is also a co-founder of Sphere Energy.
