Emdoor Expands Rugged PC ODM Line, Hits 400 Units Daily

Shenzhen – September 08, 2026 -- Emdoor Information now processes more than 400 customized rugged computing devices per day through a dedicated ODM workshop, with standard configurations shippable within 7 days, the company said.

Dedicated workshop cuts delivery times for customized rugged devices

The facility is organized into five functional zones -- order preparation, hardware modification, testing and system flashing, quality inspection, and shipment -- allowing each order to be tracked through the modification process. Orders of 10 units or more undergo sampled testing of 3 devices per 10-unit batch, while orders under 10 units receive full inspection. Standard customization projects ship within 7 days, while deeper hardware and software integration work takes 7 to 30 days.

Hardware customization spans four chip platforms and industrial interfaces

Customers can select Intel, MediaTek, Qualcomm, or Rockchip computing platforms, with support for custom motherboards, daughterboards, and adapter boards. Interface options include Ethernet, serial ports, USB, CAN, PCIe, and aviation-grade connectors for vibration- or humidity-exposed applications. Additional integration covers 4G/5G, GPS, NFC, RFID, fingerprint recognition, RTK, and barcode-scanning modules across rugged tablets, laptops, and handheld terminals.

Software tools support fleets of up to 500 managed terminals

Emdoor's customization extends to Windows, Android, and Linux operating systems, including custom startup animations, pre-installed business applications, and application whitelisting. Its proprietary MDM platform for Android devices can centrally manage up to 500 terminals simultaneously, while Windows devices include an integrated Control Center for battery, network, and backup management. Security options include role-based access controls and default IP configuration for enterprise deployment.

Full 0-to-1 product development follows five-stage validation model

For entirely new rugged products, Emdoor applies an Integrated Product Development model spanning Product Initiation, Engineering Validation Test, Design Validation Test, Production Validation Test, and Mass Production stages. The company cited its M10A-VDS vehicle diagnostic tablet as a product developed through this structured process, from industrial design through mass production orders.

Manufacturer reports 1,600 partners across more than 100 countries

Emdoor Information, listed on the Shenzhen exchange (SHZ: 001314), operates a 20,000-square-meter smart factory with annual capacity of up to one million units and more than 200 sets of testing and laboratory equipment. The company employs more than 1,500 staff, with R&D personnel accounting for approximately 40% of its workforce, and has served over 1,600 partners and customers across more than 100 countries and regions.
