Melbourne – October 29, 2026 -- Envision Energy has unveiled an AI-powered hybrid energy system for mining and smelting that targets about 20% lower overall energy costs, a renewable electricity share above 80% and supply reliability exceeding 99.95%. The company presented the system at All Energy Australia. Results depend on local resources, system configuration and production requirements.
System couples wind, solar and storage with AI dispatch for remote sites
The package combines wind, solar, battery storage, and gas turbines intended to run on green hydrogen or green ammonia. An integrated dispatch and control system ties these together. Envision aims it at remote mining sites with weak or no grid connections, where affordable and reliable green power is hardest to secure.
Envision's weather and energy AI foundation models run alongside its EnOS AI platform. Together they handle renewable generation and load forecasting, system planning and real-time dispatch, coordinating generation, storage and industrial loads as conditions change.
Seven-layer protection framework targets off-grid stability
The design covers grid-connected, weak-grid and off-grid operations. Wind-storage integrated turbines smooth wind output, and grid-forming battery storage supports stability. A seven-layer protection and control framework coordinates dispatch, stability control, protection and recovery. Envision says this lets the system absorb sudden load changes, sustain off-grid operation and restore supply after an outage.
Envision is also exploring green hydrogen or green ammonia gas turbines as alternatives to diesel backup generators. Its carbon management tools support product carbon-footprint accounting and supply data for green certification. Producers can use this to meet customer demand for lower-carbon minerals and metals and to document ESG performance for green financing.
Envision supplies Fortescue wind turbines and runs a Baotou alloy project
In Western Australia's Pilbara region, Envision is supplying wind turbines for Fortescue's Nullagine Wind Project, which supports the miner's Real Zero strategy.
In Baotou, China, Envision integrated wind power, battery storage and loads into one energy system for green alloy production. The project meets more than 70% of its electricity needs from renewables and cuts annual carbon dioxide emissions by over 200,000 tonnes.
Envision's offering spans planning, engineering, delivery, ongoing operations and financing options. At All Energy Australia, the company is meeting mining and smelting producers and project partners to develop systems tailored to local resources, industrial loads and decarbonisation goals.
