Akron, Ohio – September 22, 2026 -- Ezurio has introduced the BL54LM20 Series, marking the first time its BL54L module line integrates Edge AI processing directly on the chip. The series includes three products: the BL54LM20A, the BL54LM20B, and a BL54LM20B USB-C Adapter, all built on Nordic Semiconductor's new nRF54LM20A and nRF54LM20B system-on-chips.
New modules pair dual processors with expanded memory for larger IoT applications
Each module combines a 128 MHz Arm Cortex-M33 application processor with a 128 MHz RISC-V coprocessor, backed by 2 MB of non-volatile memory and 512 KB of RAM. The BL54LM20A supports Bluetooth LE Core 6.x, 802.15.4 for Thread/Matter, and NFC within an 11 x 8 x 1.8 mm footprint, alongside Secure Boot, Secure Firmware Update, and Secure Storage.
BL54LM20B adds an integrated NPU delivering up to 15x faster on-device inference
The BL54LM20B carries the same RF design and certification as the BL54LM20A but adds an integrated Axon NPU. Nordic Semiconductor's Sam Presley said the module gives developers up to 15x faster on-device inferencing without requiring NPU expertise. The chip supports real-time, offline AI/ML inference with no cloud dependency, and developers gain access to Nordic's Edge AI Lab and pre-trained Neuton models to accelerate model deployment.
Footprint compatibility lets developers upgrade to AI without a board respin
Ezurio designed the BL54LM20A and BL54LM20B to be 100% footprint-compatible, sharing identical RF design and certification. Jonathan Kaye, VP of Product Management and Marketing at Ezurio, said the BL54LM20A serves customers needing more flash, RAM, and I/O, while the BL54LM20B targets teams ready to add Edge AI, both on a certified module footprint already used by existing BL54L customers. This allows a design to move from the standard variant to the AI-enabled version later without a new certification cycle.
USB-C adapter targets gateways and production rigs with pre-certified compliance
The BL54LM20B USB-C Adapter embeds the certified module in a compact final product suited for gateways, PCs, and internal development or production rigs. The adapter carries regulatory certification, reducing customer risk, cost, and time to market.
Target applications span predictive maintenance to factory automation
Ezurio positions the series for predictive maintenance sensors, wearable and portable medical devices, factory automation and robotics, asset tracking, and commercial IoT devices requiring local, secure decision-making. Beta samples are scheduled to ship in October, with development kit guides, datasheets, and schematics already available.
