Vancouver, BC – September 15, 2026 -- Falcon Gold Corp. (TSXV: FG) has commenced field exploration at its West Hammond Contact Property in northwestern Ontario, a 156-claim, 3,068-hectare land package within the Atikokan–Hammond Reef Gold District.
Falcon targets satellite gold systems near a multi-million-ounce deposit
The West Hammond program sits adjacent to Agnico Eagle's Hammond Reef deposit, which holds approximately 3.3 million ounces of probable gold reserves and an additional 2.3 million ounces of measured and indicated resources as of December 31, 2025, according to Agnico Eagle's public disclosure. Gold was first discovered at Hammond Reef in 1895, and the deposit was subsequently advanced by Brett Resources and Osisko before entering Agnico Eagle's portfolio. It has received federal and provincial environmental approvals, though additional permits and a construction decision are still required.
Property covers structural corridors linked to the district's largest known deposit
West Hammond lies within the Finlayson Greenstone Belt and includes interpreted extensions of the Marmion Shear Zone, a structural corridor associated with regional gold mineralization. Historical work on the property has already identified gold occurrences, geochemical anomalies and favourable geological contacts, which Falcon's initial field crews will prospect and evaluate to refine follow-up targets.
Falcon builds a multi-property portfolio around its Central Canada Gold Project
CEO Karim Rayani said the company's strategy is to acquire ground in established gold-bearing districts, evaluate historical occurrences and structural targets, and systematically advance opportunities that may have been overlooked. West Hammond adds to a district-scale exploration position anchored by Falcon's flagship Central Canada Gold Project, located roughly 20 kilometres southeast of Hammond Reef within the Quetico Fault Zone. Falcon noted that mineralization at Hammond Reef is not necessarily indicative of mineralization on its own properties.
The technical content was reviewed by Mike Kilbourne, P. Geo., an independent Qualified Person under National Instrument 43-101. Falcon expects to provide an update following completion of the sampling program and definition of priority targets for follow-up work.
