Genesis Adds $1M to Wildfire Rebuild, Sponsors Habitat LA Build

Fountain Valley – October 13, 2026 -- Genesis committed an additional $1 million in 2026 to the next phase of its California Rises wildfire recovery initiative, while serving as Official Automotive Sponsor of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles' ReBUILD LA program.

Genesis staff joined a 500-volunteer rebuild in Pacific Palisades and Malibu

Genesis employees worked alongside Habitat LA and community volunteers during Community Build Week, held Sept. 23-26. The four-day event drew more than 500 volunteers, plus corporate and civic leaders, to support wildfire survivors in Pacific Palisades and Malibu. The Genesis GV80 was displayed at the event as part of the brand's sponsorship presence.

Tedros Mengiste, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, said the company's commitment to Los Angeles extends well beyond the immediate aftermath of the fires. Habitat LA President and CEO Erin Rank said the work shows that Los Angeles' recovery is "a shared responsibility."

California Rises directs 2026 funding to three recipients

Genesis, TGR Live and the PGA TOUR launched California Rises after the Southern California wildfires in January 2025, targeting immediate relief and long-term rebuilding. The 2026 funding of $1 million is earmarked for Habitat for Humanity of Greater Los Angeles, the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation and the Genesis Inspiration Foundation.

The Habitat LA partnership extends that commitment to families and neighborhoods still in the recovery phase.
