Hannover – September 17, 2026 -- Kia Corporation unveiled the PV7, its second dedicated all-electric Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model, at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, targeting a 2027 launch in Korea and Europe with expansion to 23 variants and additional markets to follow.
PV7 arrives in Cargo and Passenger variants built on new E-GMP.S architecture
The PV7 expands Kia's light commercial vehicle segment offering, built on the brand's PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S architecture that supports 800V charging and long-range capability. The platform's flat-floor design and Flexible Body System are engineered to maximize interior space, enabling multiple body styles and conversion models for logistics, shuttle, fleet and small business operations.
PV7 follows PV5, named 2026 International Van of the Year
Kia positions the PV7 as a scale-up from the PV5, which the company noted was named the 2026 International Van of the Year. CEO Ho Sung Song said the PV7 builds on that foundation to deliver "a complete business solution that helps customers achieve greater productivity, flexibility and long-term value."
Kia bundles fleet software and predictive maintenance into PV7 rollout
Beyond hardware, Kia is pairing the PV7 with its Business Solutions Portal, covering fleet management, charging and maintenance scheduling. Standardized Fleet Management System integration and connected vehicle data APIs are designed to give operators real-time fleet visibility. Kia's Uptime services add predictive diagnostics and proactive maintenance aimed at cutting vehicle downtime and lowering total cost of ownership for commercial fleets.
Kia sets roadmap for 23 PV7 variants and a PV9 launch in 2029
Following the 2027 launch, Kia plans to scale the PV7 lineup to 23 variants, with a larger PV9 model slated for 2029. Sangdae Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Kia's PBV Business Division, said the PV7 is "a business-tailored tool engineered to deliver best-in-class EV performance, data-driven solutions, and total service excellence." The PV7 and Kia's broader PBV lineup will be on public display at IAA Transportation 2026, running September 15-20 in Hannover.
