NEW YORK – October 31, 2026 -- The American National Standards Institute (ANSI) has proposed three new electric vehicle standardization gaps in its October 2026 Gaps Progress Report, covering damaged battery handling, accessible charging equipment and public charger reliability.

The report, issued by the ANSI Electric Vehicles Standards Panel (EVSP), updates standards, research and conformity assessment activity against 30 previously identified gaps.

Three new gaps target batteries, accessibility and public charging

The proposed additions are:

Los Angeles – – October 14, 2026 -- Californians registered 1.81 million new gas, hybrid and electric vehicles in 2025, the backdrop for the 2026 Los Angeles Auto Show's decision to make Energy the first of three narrative pillars, with Chevron with Techron as presenting sponsor of the consumer show.

AutoMobility LA, the show's global media and industry day, opens Nov. 19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Ten public days follow, Nov. 20 through 29. Industry registration costs $249. Media registration is complimentary for accredited and approved journalists and content producers.

Hannover – September 17, 2026 -- Kia Corporation unveiled the PV7, its second dedicated all-electric Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) model, at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hannover, targeting a 2027 launch in Korea and Europe with expansion to 23 variants and additional markets to follow.

PV7 arrives in Cargo and Passenger variants built on new E-GMP.S architecture

The PV7 expands Kia's light commercial vehicle segment offering, built on the brand's PBV-dedicated E-GMP.S architecture that supports 800V charging and long-range capability. The platform's flat-floor design and Flexible Body System are engineered to maximize interior space, enabling multiple body styles and conversion models for logistics, shuttle, fleet and small business operations.

Hangzhou – September 16, 2026 -- ZEEKR's Shooting Brake lineup delivered over 10,000 units globally in August, marking the third consecutive month of five-figure monthly deliveries and pushing cumulative worldwide sales past 400,000 units.
