San Francisco – September 17, 2026 -- Knak, the AI production layer for enterprise marketing, has launched Mobile Message Builder, bringing SMS and Rich Communication Services (RCS) production into the same environment enterprises already use for email and landing pages.
Enterprise campaigns keep missing deadlines over production bottlenecks
Knak's study of 333 enterprise marketers found that 85% missed at least one planned campaign launch last year due to production constraints, citing approvals, creative production and cross-team coordination as the leading causes. The company argues that while AI has made drafting content nearly free, the operational work of finishing, approving and shipping an on-brand asset has not kept pace.
RCS messaging volume is forecast to nearly quadruple by 2030
Juniper Research projects business RCS messages will grow from 125 billion globally in 2026 to more than 485 billion by 2030. Knak says most RCS and SMS production today happens outside formal systems — in documents, spreadsheets and disparate sending-platform editors — without shared brand rules, version history or approval trails.
Mobile Message Builder unifies SMS, RCS and email under one approval workflow
The tool lets teams build SMS and RCS on shared brand assets and design rules alongside email and landing pages. It generates an SMS fallback version directly from an RCS message using AI, keeping both variants together through review rather than tracked separately. Users can preview personalized messages in light and dark mode with merge tags resolved before export, and the system enforces mobile-specific requirements including character limits, opt-out language and RCS fields alongside multi-step approvals and full audit trails.
"Mobile is the channel customers open first, and it's usually the one with the least production rigor behind it," said Brendan Farnand, co-founder and CCO at Knak. "Adding a channel shouldn't mean adding another process and another tool."
AT&T cites reduced manual validation across devices
Felipe Giannazzo, Manager of Product Technology for MarTech at AT&T, said validating that an SMS or RCS message renders as intended typically requires test sends and manual checks across multiple devices, and that housing this content alongside the email pipeline in Knak removes much of that manual work.
Mobile messaging becomes Knak's third production channel
Mobile messaging follows email and landing pages as the third channel on Knak's production line, with additional channels planned for 2027. Knak will demonstrate Mobile Message Builder at Dreamforce, running September 15-17, 2026, at Moscone Center in San Francisco, alongside its broader roadmap covering email, landing pages, mobile messaging and advertising. The product is currently in beta with enterprise customers and is scheduled for general availability in October 2026.
