Mews Launches Unified POS System for US, Canada Hotels

New York – September 16, 2026 -- Mews has launched Mews POS in the United States and Canada, allowing hotels to run property management, food and beverage operations and payments on a single system. The platform, already live in more than 20 countries across Europe and APAC since its 2024 introduction, connects every order, charge and guest interaction automatically across a property.

Standalone POS systems cost hotels two hours of daily reconciliation work per property

Most point-of-sale systems on the market were built for standalone, full-service restaurants, forcing hotels to pay for complexity they do not need. Staff typically spend two hours a day manually reconciling POS, property management and accounting systems, according to Mews. Revenue losses stem from manual posting errors, missed checkouts and gaps between disconnected software APIs.

Meiser Hotels in Germany eliminated daily reconciliation time entirely

After adopting Mews POS, Meiser Hotels cut reconciliation time from two hours to zero per property through automated payment matching. The German hotel group's experience illustrates the operational savings Mews is targeting for North American operators managing restaurants, bars, counter service, grab-and-go retail and breakfast service under one roof.

Guest profiles now surface directly in the POS before staff take an order

Because Mews POS runs on the same infrastructure as property management and payments, front desk and F&B systems share data in real time. F&B charges post directly to a guest's room bill, receipts are accessible within the PMS via URL without printed copies, and end-of-shift reconciliation happens automatically without separate reporting.

Shelter Social Club replaced paper-based tip tracking with unified reporting

Vanessa Mowell, Director of Operations at Shelter Social Club, said the property previously ran F&B and retail on separate systems with paper-based tip tracking and no ability to charge rooms after checkout. Mews POS consolidated operations across the venue's lobby shop, bar and in-room amenities, producing what Mowell described as clean reporting for both sales data and billing across front-of-house and accounting teams.

Richard Valtr, Founder of Mews, said the system removes the need for hotels to run a separate platform for every part of their operation, connecting orders, guest interactions and payments from the front desk to the bar tab without manual reconciliation.

Mews reports 15,000 customers across 85 countries and was named Best POS for 2026 by Hotel Tech Report.
