Multiconsult, Rejlers to Merge Into SEK 8 Billion Nordic Consultancy

Stockholm and Oslo – September 09, 2026 -- Multiconsult ASA and Rejlers AB have agreed to merge into a combined pan-Nordic consultancy group with close to 8,000 employees and a market capitalisation of nearly SEK 8 billion.

Boards approve merger of equals with 54-46 ownership split

Under the joint cross-border merger plan adopted by both boards, each Multiconsult shareholder will receive 0.9725 Rejlers class B shares per share held, giving Multiconsult shareholders 54% and Rejlers shareholders 46% of the new entity. The combined company will be named Multiconsult Rejlers and will be dual listed on Nasdaq Stockholm and Euronext Oslo Børs.

Deal targets SEK 100-120 million in annual cost synergies within three years

The merger is expected to generate cost synergies of about SEK 100-120 million annually within three years, with one-off integration costs of roughly SEK 40 million. Synergies are targeted in IT, procurement, administrative functions, audit and office network optimisation, while both organisations are expected to be largely preserved as the deal is primarily driven by revenue growth rather than cost cutting.

Combined workforce spans four Nordic home markets

Multiconsult Rejlers will employ approximately 3,700 people in Norway, 2,100 in Sweden, 1,000 in Finland and 100 in Denmark, combining more than 4,200 Multiconsult employees with roughly 3,600 from Rejlers. Multiconsult brings a strong Norwegian base plus operations in Denmark, Poland and the UK, spanning Building and Properties, Energy and Industry, Mobility and Transportation, and Water and Environment. Rejlers adds expertise across energy, industry, building and infrastructure, with a footprint in Sweden, Finland, Norway and the UAE.

Viktor Svensson named CEO of new group headquartered in Stockholm

Viktor Svensson, current President and CEO of Rejlers, will lead Multiconsult Rejlers, with Kristin O. Augestad, Interim CEO of Multiconsult, serving as Deputy CEO. The group will be headquartered in Stockholm with a main office in Oslo. Stiftelsen Multiconsult and the Rejler family will remain committed long-term owners of the combined entity.

Executives cite scale for AI investment and Nordic infrastructure projects

Rejlers Chairman Peter Rejler called the deal a merger of equals that creates significant long-term shareholder value for both companies. The combined group is positioned to pursue larger, transformational Nordic projects, expand capabilities in Arctic, coastal, maritime and geotechnical services, and strengthen infrastructure work in Finland and Poland. Company leaders said the enhanced balance sheet and capital markets position will support further investment in artificial intelligence, acquisitions and employee development.
