Progressive Tops Keynova's Q3 2026 Mobile Insurance Scorecard

Wilmington, Del. – October 07, 2026 -- Progressive has claimed first place overall and for mobile web in Keynova Group's Q3 2026 Mobile Insurance Scorecard, while Allstate took the top spot for mobile app experience, according to the semi-annual benchmark of the 12 largest U.S. auto and property insurers.

Carriers push personalized savings tools as premiums climb

One-third of the 12 carriers evaluated have introduced enhanced mobile tools that let existing policyholders identify and apply for new discounts, policy options or deductible changes, moving beyond discount offers limited to new-policy quoting. These guided savings assessments factor in a policyholder's current deductibles, coverages and discounts to generate targeted recommendations.

Mobile quoting for coverage updates reaches three-quarters of carriers

Three-quarters of carriers now support mobile quotes for proposed or hypothetical policy updates, and Progressive is among the 40% that let policyholders retrieve saved policy-change quotes directly from the authenticated mobile web landing screen. Telematics adoption lags: while 42% of carriers' primary servicing apps include accident-detection telematics, only a quarter of those firms allow full telematics enrollment within the app itself.

All 12 carriers deploy biometric login and multi-factor authentication

Every firm in the Scorecard uses biometric login and multi-factor authentication across mobile channels. Erie stands out as the only carrier offering an external authenticator app rather than a texted or emailed code for verification. Passkey login, a newer credential alternative, is now supported by close to 20% of carriers.

Logout confirmation remains inconsistent across mobile channels

Two-thirds of carriers confirm completed logout on mobile web, but fewer than 20% acknowledge completed logout within their mobile apps, leaving a gap in visible account-security assurance for app users.

Keynova Group's evaluation covered the mobile channels of Allstate, American Family, Erie, Farmers, GEICO, Liberty Mutual, Nationwide, Progressive, State Farm, The Hartford, Travelers and USAA.
