Irvine, Calif. – September 15, 2026 -- Roland DG has launched the TrueVis MG2 Series, a UV printer/cutter range delivering approximately twice the productivity of its predecessor while cutting ink costs through new 1,000 ml pouches.
New printhead technology doubles output speed for print service providers
The MG2 Series comprises the 64-inch MG2-640 and 30-inch MG2-300, both built around a newly developed printhead paired with advanced waveform control technology. Roland DG states this combination delivers roughly twice the productivity of the previous MG Series, allowing users to raise daily output and shorten turnaround times without sacrificing print quality.
Single-pass multi-layer printing enables up to five stacked ink layers
The printers support single-pass multi-layer printing, stacking combinations of CMYK, White, and Gloss inks across up to five layers in one pass. This eliminates reverse-feeding media between layers, reducing misalignment risk and media jams. Combined with an integrated take-up system, the MG2-640 and MG2-300 can run continuous multi-layer production unattended, including overnight shifts. The series also includes 72 built-in texture libraries for decorative and embossed effects.
Optional Orange and Red inks expand Pantone color coverage
Beyond standard CMYK, optional Orange and Red inks widen the color gamut and increase Pantone coverage for brand-accurate reproduction. Roland DG's True Rich Color print settings balance vivid color output with natural skin tones and neutral grays, while Variable Dot Technology and improved ink placement accuracy target smoother gradations.
Integrated print & cut workflow targets packaging, labels and window graphics
The MG2 Series carries Roland DG's integrated print & cut technology, letting users print and contour cut in a single workflow, and remains compatible with Roland DG and Graphtec cutting devices. Target applications include window graphics, backlit displays, stickers, labels, packaging prototypes, promotional materials and specialty decorative graphics -- segments Roland DG frames as higher-margin than traditional signage.
1,000 ml ink pouches and automated calibration cut operating costs
New 1,000 ml ink pouches reduce both per-unit ink costs and replacement frequency. Automated media set-up and calibration, plus Direct Print functionality for executing jobs directly from the device, aim to lower labor overhead. A newly developed automatic fabric wiper is designed to maintain print quality while cutting routine maintenance time.
Software ecosystem adds remote monitoring and production analytics
